I've been a poet since before I could write. Click on the links below to see my 2008 and 2009 performances for South by Southeast Spoken Word Showcase, as cablecast on public access television ChannelAustin.

I recently appeared with fellow RagBlog poet Larry Piltz on Rag Radio, hosted by Thorne Dreyer on Hornsby-Austin radio KOOP . Some friends were unable to listen in at the time; others weren't sure how that "streaming radio" thingie works! From here, download and listen to the whole show  on Windows Media Poetry or your media player of choice, recorded by KOOP producer and friend Allan Campbell in a high quality mp3 file. We had a lot of fun, reading some new and old work, and talking about what poetry is "for", and where it comes from.

I've also included links to US anti-imperialist political prisoner Marilyn Buck reading one of her poems, "Wild Poppies", from within the walls of Dublin Federal Correctional Institute, California, and to the Freedom Archives, where you can order her CD of the same name. You can see Marilyn's other publications on the
Rag Authors' Page .
Click on Marilyn -- blooming where she's planted -- to hear her reading her work.                  Waiting
Like a mezzuzzah, by the door,
I keep your picture there.
As I come and go,
it reminds me
of that basic freedom
I must not squander
while yours is forfeit.
Someday soon I may open the door,
and find you there.
The fatted calf awaits!
